Recommendation Letters
February 23, 2012
Scott,
I just wanted to send out a Thank You for all of your help with my Aunt & Uncle. They are happy and safe in their new assisted living apartment. The facility couldn’t be more accomodating, and you can see the relief in both of them.
Your approach was very customer oriented, and there was never any pressure put on them. We could tell that you had our best interests at heart, and that, moreover, you enjoy what you do, helping people with this very important decision in life.
The funding came through very quickly, and they are looking forward to their first check!!
I wish you well in the future, and would highly suggest you, and the services you provide, to anyone who qualifies. It really is a hidden gem.
Thanks Scott.
Sincerely,
Ken Burke

Dear Mr. Curtin:
The intent of this correspondence is to introduce myself and explain my interaction and experience with Mr. Scott R. Grande and Veterans Financial Corp.
My mother (Anna Amitrano) has resided at Atria Lincoln Place since December 2004. She entered as an independent resident and then slowly began to experience diminishing health, which caused her to require assisted services.
At that time Scott R. Grande was involved at Atria meeting with the residents to explain to them that he was available to help them with their financial planning should they have a need. My mother felt that the time for her to revisit her current financial status had arrived and had confidence that Mr. Grande was the person to help us with this.
Until that time my mother had independently taken care of her own finances, I had little involvement and some of the decisions she had made were not in her best interest.
I called Mr. Grande and explained my mother’s situation. After a lengthy phone discussion the three of us met for our first financial planning session.
Scott arrived with a plan in writing based on information I had shared with him during our phone call. I had a lot of questions and was very overwhelmed with the responsibility of having to take care of this portion of my mother’s life.
Scott met with us weekly for a six week period of time. Each week he would help us plan our next steps, assisted us with all paperwork and patiently answer any questions we may have had.
Ultimately my mother was successful in receiving a financial benefit from the government. Scott (and others in his organization) were instrumental in my mother applying and being eligible for that benefit. His genuine concern for his customers and his knowledge of government programs is commendable.
I believe the services that Veterans Financial Corp can offer many of your residents is extremely beneficial to them personally and to Atria. The combination of this government benefit and the financial plan that we created will allow my mother to remain at Atria without the burden of diminishing finances.
Thank you for your time, and thank you for the services you provide my mother at Atria
Lincoln Place. Sincerely,
Annette Matrone

Dear Mr. Curtin,
The purpose of this correspondence is to express our extreme satisfaction with the Veterans Financial Company. My 87 year old mother, Lillian Morgan, resides at the Atria Lincoln Place located in Lincoln, Rhode Island. We were having difficulty making ends meet with the high cost of living and medical expenses.
However, with the assistance of Veterans Financial, my mother is now receiving a $1000 per month benefit from the Federal Government. I can honestly say that without the intervention of this company my mom would have had to move out of her beautiful accommodations to a less desirable residence.
This writer worked closely with Mr. Scott R. Grande, the Financial Services Agent from Veterans Financial. Mr. Grande was highly professional, courteous, and efficient during this process. This application is quite lengthy and sometimes difficult to understand. Mr. Grande walked us through the application process step-by-step and within just a couple of months mom was receiving the benefits.
In closing, I would highly recommend Veterans Financial as a reputable company and an asset to the Atria Senior Living community. Please feel to contact me with any further questions.
Sincerely,
Brad W. Morgan

Dear Emily,
My dad, Edward T. Richards, a Korean War veteran, recently moved into an assisted living facility, Sakonnet Bay, in Tiverton. Rl. I was referred by Sakonnet Bay to Veteran’s Financial to help me file for the VA’s Aid & Attendance benefit.
Over several weeks in May I had the pleasure of working with your customer service staff, who became our guardian angel as we navigated through the murky waters of the application process. They were absolutely amazing- returning all my calls almost immediately, guiding me through the paperwork (leave no blanks!), helped me with providing additional forms for my dad’s rental income from his home, and provided absolutely vital information as to wording needed from my dad’s doctor.
My dad’s completed application was received by the VA in Philadelphia on June 7, 2011 and we just received word that his benefit ($1644 per month) was approved on June 27, 2011! I couldn’t wait to call your staff and tell them the news- they were thrilled for us and as astonished as we were that we’d received the news so quickly. I told your staff that without their diligence and expertise we would not have received this incredible outcome. I honestly believe this to be true.
While I was working on the application, my dad {against my advice) paid a lawyer $380 to review the VA information and was told by both his lawyer and the social workers at the VA here in Maine that he would not qualify…yet your staff assured me from the beginning that he absolutely would qualify.
Your staff provided us with customer service above and beyond anything I could have imagined- they truly cared about our situation and treated me with real compassion. Their confidence, professionalism and fact checking made all the difference. I simply cannot thank you enough. As I told your staff on the phone, Iwill recommend them and Veteran’s Financial to everyone I know.
Thank you for the wonderful service you provide…and a huge, heartfelt thank you to customer service!
Most sincerely,
Katharine R. Johnson

Dear Emily:
This letter comes to you following our February 24th seminar led by Scott R. Grande. This seminar was yet another successful event for both our residents and families. The information provided by Scott was timely, educational and easy to understand for our audience of over 65 attendees.
It would be remiss of me not to express to you how wonderful it has been working with Scott. We have been working with him since our opening in 2006.
He has always been so responsive when we have called upon him with our questions regarding the Aid and Attendance pension program. When working with our families, they have always complimented Scott on both his knowledge and professionalism.
We really do see Scott as a great partner with us – he has been a great asset to our sales team and we were delighted to have had him back for this seminar.
We trust that you will share our compliments with Scott and his colleagues.
